Maison Leguay / Moussafir Architectes Associés

first_img Text description provided by the architects. In order to preserve the character of this classic brick-and-stone suburban house while doubling its surface area, we decided to duplicate it by adding two side blocks, two ‘clones’ set at right angles to it, where there used to be a shed. This arrangement has allowed us to create a harmonious trio of buildings set around an inner garden, while preserving the street alignment. The new home is made up of three dissociated elementary blocks, a square and two rectangles, separated by two narrow glazed gaps and with matching sloping rooves. To complete the fusion, large larchwood boxes with windows form glazed openings in all three blocks, offering visual perspectives through the house and into the garden that runs along its north-south axis.Save this picture!Courtesy of Courtesy of Jacques Moussafir, Gilles PoiréeProject gallerySee allShow lessVideo: Jaume Fuster Library / Josep Llinás and Joan VeraArticlesShadowboxing Exhibition / Slowscape CollectiveArticles Share Maison Leguay / Moussafir Architectes AssociésSave this projectSaveMaison Leguay / Moussafir Architectes Associés ArchDaily Maison Leguay / Moussafir Architectes Associés Houses CopyHouses•Bois-Colombes, France Save this picture!Courtesy of Courtesy of Jacques Moussafir, Gilles Poirée+ 25 Share ShareFacebookTwitterPinterestWhatsappMailOrhttps://www.archdaily.com/130215/maison-leguay-moussafir-architectes-associes Clipboard “COPY” ShareFacebookTwitterPinterestWhatsappMailOrhttps://www.archdaily.com/130215/maison-leguay-moussafir-architectes-associes Clipboardcenter_img Projects 2011 Area:  232 m² Year Completion year of this architecture project “COPY” Year:  CopyAbout this officeMoussafir Architectes AssociésOfficeFollowProductsSteelBrick#TagsProjectsBuilt ProjectsSelected ProjectsResidential ArchitectureHousesHousesBois-ColombesFrancePublished on April 25, 2011Cite: “Maison Leguay / Moussafir Architectes Associés” 25 Apr 2011.
