This work involves the complete rehabilitation of a detached house, located in Malpartida de Cáceres and built around 1920. The existing building, as most local urban houses found in the area, was divided into two volumes (front and rear), which were connected by means of a small open courtyard. Save this picture!© Lucía MiretThe most significant intervention was the construction of a connective structure between the formerly separated built volumes. This structure takes the shape of a complex prismatic body. It operates as an unfolded mask by juxtaposing its geometrical faces over the white canvasses of the original façades, thus articulating a wide array of connective relationships of both functional and visual nature.Save this picture!© Lucía MiretMoreover, and due to the serious state of disrepair of the original roofing, a new roof structure was built. This allowed for an additional 60 centimeters of extra ceiling height, which were used to intensify the functional capabilities of the upper floor by creating a series of interconnected, multifunctional, double-height spaces that were carved out of the interior of the built volumes.Save this picture!ElevationThe project attempts to visually differentiate any new interventions from the original architectural elements, while simultaneously grafting both contemporary and historical sensibilities into a single and comprehensive design statement. Consequently, light, dry-joint construction systems were used in order to establish a contrasting dialogue with the massive wall structures of the original buildings. Additionally, the project pursued the development of construction criteria that allowed both technological exploration and the sustainable use of locally available technical and material resources. Gerrard denies Rodgers rift

first_img But that did not stop talk of tension between the pair, with Gerrard’s contract up at the end of the campaign and consistent criticism this term of his performances in a holding midfield role. The former England captain dismissed that notion via his Instagram account, posting an image of the pair laughing together during a training session, accompanied by an unequivocal message. It read: “Just to set the record straight media talk of a fall out between us 2 is NONSENSE ..have a nice Sunday ??#together#solid#ynwa”. Rodgers has spoken previously about easing Gerrard’s workload, particularly with the Reds having additional Champions League duties this season, but this was the first time this season the midfielder has not started a league match. He played the full game in midweek against Ludogorets and then 15 minutes against the Potters, after which Rodgers praised his impact from the bench. Press Association Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has branded speculation of a rift with manager Brendan Rodgers “nonsense”.center_img Gerrard was left out of the starting XI for his side’s 1-0 win over Stoke on Saturday, with the match falling on the 16th anniversary of his first-team debut. Rodgers, who sent the midfielder on as a second-half substitute, admitted afterwards he was not aware of the landmark, but described the 34-year-old as a “wonderful man”. last_img read more
