Body in river identified as that of man reported missing

first_img WhatsApp (Photo Supplied/South Bend Police Department) The body found in the St. Joseph River on Wednesday, Nov. 18, was identified as that of a man who was reported missing.Garrett Gilpin, 32, was reported missing back on Oct. 17.He was last seen at the Burger King restaurant on LaSalle Avenue.Authorities recovered his body in the water near Marion and Riverside Drive.There was no initial signs of foul play. Grade pay of primary teachers hiked protest withdrawn

first_imgKolkata: The School Education department on Friday brought out a notification effecting the hike in grade pay of primary teachers across the state. The grade pay of trained primary teachers has been enhanced from Rs 2,600 to Rs 3,600 and the grade pay of untrained primary teachers will be Rs 2,900 instead of Rs 2,300. The increased pay band will be effective from August 1.State Education minister Partha Chatterjee on Thursday at a programme organised by the West Bengal Trinamool Primary Teachers’ Association at Nazrul Manch said that he had already proposed the hike in grade pay from Rs 2,600 to Rs 3,600 to the state Finance department. Soon after the notification of the government on Friday, a section of the primary teachers who were agitating in front of Bikash Bhavan — the office of the Education department withdrew their protest. The last teacher recruitment in the primary level in the state took place in 2017 and the teachers have already got two pay hikes — one in July 2018 and another this month. They will now be getting a salary of nearly Rs 28,000 with the new pay slab being implemented.last_img read more
