But Nebraska’s alternate jersey for the coming year is really going to make fans’ mouths water. On Monday, Nebraska Football unveiled an incredible black alternate jersey for the 2019 season. It features a black Nebraska logo, a black stripe on the helmet, and a skull-and-crossbones wearing a helmet on the sleeves. As for the gloves, they are red but with the same skull-and-crossbones on the center. The jersey was revealed in a hype video that will send a chill up your spine: ☠️@adidasFballUS pic.twitter.com/2BqX54RvEu— Nebraska Football (@HuskerFBNation) August 19, 2019The jersey commemorates their Blackshirts tradition, which dates back to 1964. It was started under then-head coach Bob Devaney, where the first-team defense wore black shirts to differentiate themselves.Fans are quickly taking to Twitter to express how much they love (or loath) the new jersey:My thumb just punched straight through the screen hitting the like button. #gbr— Quinten Lyon (@qlyon28) August 19, [email protected] okay these are effin sick. They went on 4-8 in 2018, but looked good down the stretch.Throw in the improvement that quarterback Adrian Martinez is expected to see in 2019, and Nebraska could be a Big Ten West contender. The team has yet to announce which games they will be wearing these jerseys for. We’re definitely looking forward to seeing them in action.
