Blanchard Systems, developer of SendMyAd, debuts its editorial solution Virtual Publisher. Virtual Publisher is a book planning and production tool for print and digital editions, and is compatible with Adobe InDesign Plugins.The new product was introduced at Blanchard’s third annual SendMyAd Users meeting. This year’s event, held at the Time Life Building in New York City, had record attendance.According to a company press release, Virtual Publisher is, “a ‘cloud-based’ system designed to help publishers plan, create, collaborate and approve all elements of a publication’s multichannel production for print, web, mobile and tablet from a standard web browser. The solutions is tightly integrated with SendMyAd to integrate ad and editorial.”Virtual Publisher hosts several views, such as “planning,” “editorial,” “layout” and “advertising” views. Features include a postal rate calculator, editor approval options, paper stock management and an online “stitching” option for laying out ad and edit pages. Several publishers have integrated SendMyAd into their production strategies, including Time Inc., AMI and The Atlantic.
